CATIA V5 – Analysis (Montréal)

CATIA Analysis provides simulation capability within the design environment, allowing engineers to perform analysis directly on their CATIA models. Since there is no transfer of geometry, data integrity issues are avoided and design/analysis iterations can be performed rapidly from simple parts to complex assemblies. Unrivalled ease of use makes CATIA Analysis particularly suitable for engineers looking to accurately size their designs and quickly evaluate real-world performance.

Students will learn how to create different analysis cases utilizing loads and restraints. Key topics include: general FEA concepts, part- level and assembly- level structural analysis, restraints, loads, mesh creation, results computation, mesh refinement, interpreting results images, and bolt tightening / weldment assembly analysis.

WHO IS IT FOR?


CATIA V5 Foundations users and/or equivalent experience.

COURSE OBJECTIVE

This course covers the main tools for Structural Analysis on a single part. Throughout this course, you will learn how to perform a basic static analysis using the finite elements method.

Upon completion of this course you will be able to: Define and customize material properties, Apply pressure, acceleration and force density loads; and define virtual parts, Apply pivot, ball-joint, and user-defined restraints, Compute a frequency analysis for a single part, Create planar sections with which to visualize internal result values, Compute and refine a mesh using adaptive meshing in order to achieve a pre-defined accuracy.

COURSE STRUCTURE

This course provides a high-level understanding of Manufacturing in CATIA V5. Students create a Manufacturing Program and Simulate a Manufacturing Program, with the ability to Define, Analyse and Modify the Tool Path.
