Inertia360 Process

  1. CATIA V5 solid models of parts and assemblies.
  2. To produce the weight report, the software automates the measuring and data extraction from CATIA.
  3. For the mass and fuel distribution reports, Inertia360™ automatically performs required sectioning of parts or fuel model before measuring and conducting data extraction.
  4. Result:
    • Accurate reports using the CATIA solid models.
    • Time-saving and unique approach to mass distribution analysis.
    • No approximations and no simplified models: all results are derived from the actual parts.

Features

Weight Report

Generation of weight reports containing the mass, center of gravity and inertia of parts and assemblies. The report lists not only parts, but also their relative parts tree positions.

Mass Reports

Generation of mass distribution report of parts and assemblies found in selected volumes. Inertia360™ clips and performs calculations on the parts found in the chosen volume.

Fuel Distribution

The Fuel Distribution report details the mass, center of gravity and inertia of fuel within a specified volume no matter how complex its geometry. The application generates alternative fuel volumes using an original full tank and cutting planes you identify. The resulting fuel volumes are sectionalized using a volume model to generate the final report.

History Reports

Once the results of weight, mass and fuel reports have been generated and recorded into the database, history reports can be created by querying old reports by part, assembly, and volume or creation date. Use this report to evaluate trends.

Difference Reports

Immediately pinpoint changes in revisions with comparison of two reports and differences highlighted.

Customizable Materials

Configuration enables setting the densities of individual materials as needed.

Database of reports

All reports are saved to SQL database system for traceability and later retrieval.

Fasteners and sealants

Right down to the finest details, Inertia360™ incorporates algorithms to include approximations for fasteners and sealants within calculations.

Extendable

Inertia360™ was created specifically for wing designs but can be used for other applications including automotive, marine/naval and AEC engineering. The generated reports are in spreadsheet format, listing weight, center of gravity and inertia by part for the weight report and by volume for the mass and fuel distribution report.
